Travel description:
Day 1: Arrival and flight to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, and transfer to the camp in Nuweiba
Individual flights must be booked independently and at your own expense and are not included in the romeis-reisen travel package price.
Day 2: Arrival and relaxation at the camp by the sea near Nuweiba
We will spend the first few nights of our trip at the camp, where you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the area, the sea and the climate.
Day 3: Relax at the camp by the sea/excursion to St. Catherine's Monastery and Mount Moses. This excursion is optional and will be organised on site if several participants are interested. The excursionists set off with the driver and jeep to visit St. Catherine's Monastery and watch the sunset upon arrival at Mount Moses (2,285 m).
Day 4: Start of the desert tour
On the first day of our desert tour, we will ride dromedaries to Wadi Disco. We will have lunch there and hike to the Mlehis waterhole in the afternoon.
Day 5: Desert tour
Ride or hike to the foot of Nagb Hmedat and walk for approx. 1.5 hours over the pass. We will camp there at lunchtime and in the afternoon we will travel by dromedary to the Ein Hudra oasis, where we will spend the second night.
Day 6: Desert tour
The next day, we walk/ride through Wadi Hudra (‘mushroom stone’) and camp in the Mdayle Valley at lunchtime. We spend the night in Wadi Mdayle.
Day 7: Desert tour
Today we cross the pass and continue riding/hiking into Wadi Rum, where we camp at lunchtime. In the afternoon, we ride/hike out of Rum and spend the night at Ghlim.
Day 8: Desert tour
We cross one of the few roads and drink tea in the village near the Nawamis tombs, which we can also visit. We stay there over lunchtime and in the afternoon we climb Jabal Um Matamir.
Day 9: Desert tour
Today we continue by dromedary/on foot into the Al Karri Valley; if there is enough water, the camels will also be watered and we will use this place for our lunch break. In the afternoon, our tour continues to Canyunayn, where we will also set up camp for the night.
Day 10: End of the desert tour/return to the camp by the sea
At the end of our desert tour, after a final breakfast in the desert, we will return to our starting point, where we will arrive around midday. We will leave the Bedouins and dromedaries behind and drive back to the camp we visited at the beginning of our journey.
Day 11: Relaxation at the Red Sea camp
Now it's time to reflect on your experiences during relaxing hours by the sea and let your mind wander. Fancy some snorkelling or diving? A wonderful underwater world is waiting to be discovered.
Day 12: Stay at the camp by the sea
Another day at leisure to enjoy the sea or walks on the beach. A visit to the nearest town, Nuweiba, invites you to linger or enjoy a fish dinner.
Day 13: Departure and journey home
Group transfer to Sharm el Sheikh Airport, departure and individual arrival in your home country, and individual journey home.
